The circus comes to town with JUMBO, at Al. Ringling Theatre

The Al. Ringling Theatre celebrates the season opening of Circus World’s daily circus performances with Jumbo (1962), a classic circus musical starring Hollywood luminaries Doris Day, Jimmy Durante, Martha Raye, and Stephen Boyd. Broadway legend Busby Berkely provides the musical direction and choreography for the movie version of the hit musical of the same name. Jumbo also features a great number of legendary circus performers of the time including Poodles Hanneford.
Pop and Kitty Wonder are the owners of the Wonder Circus and because of Pop's addiction to gambling they are constantly in debt and the creditors are very close to foreclosing on them. Their main attraction is Jumbo, the elephant, and it seems that their competitor John Noble wants Jumbo and is luring away all of their acts leaving them with virtually nothing. Then all of a sudden a mysterious man named Sam Rawlins joins them as a wire walker and Kitty is taken with him, but his intentions may not be completely honest.
